The Parametric Design of a Photovoltaic Power System over a Parking Lot

The effective planning of urban areas is important in terms improving both the density and traffic problem. Parking lots should be arranged to manage spaces at points where population highly dense. On other hand, installing rooftop solar energy plants over parking are advantageous renewable production. During design process such power plants, area-energy optimization shading caused by surrounding buildings have direct effect on overall performance. In this study, firstly a lot was designed an empty parcel within area İzmir province, with capacity 1.704 vehicles, 64 motorcycles electric vehicle charging stations. addition, plant planned canopies, then system selecting proper photovoltaic panels inverters. parametric simulation software, which used determine performance, radiation shadow simulations were run. After that, electricity generation performances investigated comparisons between parcels selected dates made. conclusion, it found that 7.006 placed canopies 24.995 m2 able generate 8.084 MWh/year electricity.
